NovoSIP test on Acer Iconia tablet

Yesterday we tested the Acer Iconia tablet with 8-inch that has a stereo sound. The quality is very good despite a very affordable price.

Combined with a table stand or wall mount, it is an interesting solution to associate with our SIP client for Android.

Many customers have installed their side our porters with SIP phones, SIP accounts to traditional and mobile phones, PCs, MACs etc …

The combinations are many and the field does not stop evolving.

Option clavier sur le portier NovoSIP

La version collective disposant d’un clavier codé pour contrôle d’accès (et également d’un lecteur RFID), nous avons voulu apporter une option clavier pour le modèle à appel bouton.

Les contraintes d’encombrement étant importantes nous avons choisi un clavier inox de 4 touches numérotées de 1 à 4.

Les codes peuvent être composés de 3 à 8 chiffres selont le niveau de sécurité recherché.

Dans la version collective, il peut y avoir jusqu’à 500 utilisateurs (ou résidents) et chacun peut avoir un code d’accès lui correspondant. Ci-dessous quelques photos écrans des paramétrages.

access control keypad En 0 on choisi l’onglet Users, en 1 le code, en 2 le nombre de digits de 3 à 8 et en 3 la sauvegarde des paramètres.

Le prix de l’option n’est pas encore fixé (sortie cet automne) mais sera aux alentour des 100 euros.

Nous vous invitons à faire part de vos remarques sur l’intérêt d’une telle option qui a été suggérée par des parents souhaitant permettre un accès à leur enfant sans qu’ils aient besoin de s’équiper de badge RFID (option disponible sur la version collective) ou de Smatphone (option contrôle d’accès Bluetooth à venir également en Automne).

Reaction time on a SIP call

People often ask us the question of the reaction time after pressing the call button of the video door station NovoSIP and it seemed that the best response was to illustrate it with a small video.

The NovoSIP is connected to the router by Ethernet cable supplied with PoE, while the Android tablet (note the associated keyboard looks like a PC but it is an Android tablet, ASUS brand for those interested) is Wifi connected to the house.

The video does not show the conversation (we have other video to illustrate the quality of sound and picture) but only responsiveness to the call by viewing the two devices in a single view, because in case of door station in the same room as the tablet, there’s larsen feedback.

This video illustrates that an almost immediate communication over a home network of the most common.


LED night light

All the video door stations do not need lighting at night since there is often mood lighting but in some cases it is an interesting option.

To avoid having to enlarge the camera hole by adding the usual 6 LEDs doorphone, making it more likely to draw attacks. we chose to use a single high power LED as used in the new flashlights.

The result is very convincing. Separating the LED camera also prevents glare on the glass cover. The quality of the Raspberry Pi camera  also contributing to the output assembly. The LED lights up when making a call and switches off when opening the door.
